Carl L. Miller, age 78, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comCarl was born October 4, 1935, in Elmore, MN, the son of Carl F. and Alma L. (Krosch) Miller. He was raised in rural Elmore where he was a 1953 graduate of Elmore High School. He entered the U.S. Marines in 1956 and returned to Elmore in 1959 where he continued to farm. He was united in marriage to Marcy R. Erdahl on November 17, 1961 in Elmore. The couple owned and operated the Broken Arrow Resort in Alexandria for a few years before returning to Blue Earth where Carl was a partime policeman and worked full time at the Farmers Elevator for several years. He later worked for Gerring Industries and then for J & M Manufacturing in Winnebago before retiring in 1998. Carl enjoyed wood carving, leather working, fishing, cooking, trap shooting, motorcycling and any family events & gatherings-especially with grandchildren.Carl is survived by his wife, Marcy Miller of Blue Earth, daughter, Shelli (Patrick) Ziegler of Blue Earth, son, Carl A. Miller (Susan Johnson) of Elmore, daughter, Shanda Miller (Jay Stubbles) of Owatonna, grandchildren: Rob Ziegler (Kelli Steier), Sydni Ziegler (Scott Stenzel), Marissa Miller, Clinton Miller, Miranda Harding (Brian Brown), Mitchell Harding, Hope Stubbles and six great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Evelyn Frette, Elda Tvedten, Darlene King and an infant son, Mitchell.
