Betty J, Malcolm, age 81, of Blue Earth, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at her home in Blue Earth.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth with Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 12:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Blue Earth.Betty was born September 19, 1932 in Dunn County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry & Pauline (Peterson) Christopherson. She was raised and educated in Prairie Farm, WI.She was baptized in Hay River Church in WI, and Confirmed in New Hope Lutheran Church in WI.She worked in Minneapolis and Barron WI. doing waitress work. She was married to Robert Malcolm in 1954. They lived in Daly City, Ca. Madelia, Brainerd, Mankato & Blue Earth. The couple were later divorced. Betty was employed at Telex Communications and retired in 1997. She worked part-time at the AmericInn, Green Giant, American Legion, VFW and doing babysitting. She could always be found in her flower garden in the summer and under a Packer''s blanket in the winter. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her door was always open to anyone. She will be deeply missed by her family.Betty is survived by her sons, Tom Ellefson of Boyceville, WI, Brad Malcolm of New Richland, MN, and Steve Malcolm of Eugene, OR, daughter Vickie (Randy) Aukes of Blue Earth, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, sisters Vivian Lundequam of Prairie Farm, WI, & Nina (Elwood) Donaldson of Sand Creek, WI. She was preceded in death by one son Bruce, her parents, 8 sisters, 3 brothers and many nieces & nephews.
