Roger P. "Ogie" Ogilvie, age 83, of Blue Earth, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Rodney Yates officiating. Burial will be in Pilot Grove Township Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comRoger was born March 4, 1931, in Blue Earth, the son of Paul and Evelyn (Pitcher) Ogilvie. He was a 1949 graduate of Blue Earth High School and soon served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Leona K. Wilson on March 27, 1954 in Estherville, Iowa. Roger was discharged from the Navy in 1955 and returned to farm South of Blue Earth for 10 years. In the late 1960''s he became an independent, owner/operator, truck driver. He drove with several companies including Q Carriers and B-Line trucking. He was proud of his nearly perfect driving record for many years. Leona rode in the truck with Roger often to see the western United States. Roger was a member of the Blue Earth American Legion Post 89 and VFW Post 4580 for many years. He enjoyed hunting, shooting trap and spending time with his family and friends. Roger is survived by his daughter, Carmen Coxworth of Blue Earth, his daughter, Kim (Brad) Frey of Hastings, his son, David Ogilvie of Southern Minnesota,, his daughter, Karen Miller of Blue Earth, his son in law, Joe Olivo of Blooming Prairie, his sister, Janice (Harold) Wall of DuPree, SD, nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Leona in 1998, daughter, Carrie Olivo in 2012 and a sister, Marlene Schaal.
