Earl William Hanson

Earl W. Hanson, age 73, of Fairmont, formerly of Winnebago, died peacefully Saturday, May 31, 2014, at his home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Kris Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Earl attended elementary school in Winnebago. Following a farm accident at age 3, which left him permanently disabled, he lived in Cambridge, Faribault, St. Peter and most recently in Fairmont. The wonderful staff at REM in Fairmont helped Earl enjoy cheering for the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, his favorite desert pecan pie and visiting with his family and friends. He also worked with STEP Inc. for several years.Earl is survived by his sister, Shirley (Buster) Hartman of Winnebago, brother, Dennis (Sharon) Hanson of Rochester, brother, Harlan (Judy) Hanson of Vermillion, SD, sister, Doris Wood of Wells, sister, Lynne (David) Smith of New Castle, IN, brother, Buzz (Pam) Hanson of Blue Earth, brother, Jerry (Kris) Hanson of Jordan and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, Erin O''Neil and a brother-in-law, Grant Wood.
