Robert L. "Bob" Kabe, age 83, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Nicollet Place in Blue Earth.Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 1:30 PM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from noon until service time Monday at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com Expressions of sympathy are preferred in the form of memorial donation to UHD Hospice.He was born February 6, 1931, at Emerald Township, MN, the son of William and Caroline (Ahrens) Kabe. He was raised in the Blue Earth and Frost areas where he graduated from Blue Earth High School in the late 1940''s. He farmed with his father during the 1950''s and 60''s in Emerald Township. In 1965 he moved to Blue Earth and soon became the custodian at the Faribault Co. Courthouse. In 1988 he changed jobs and was then the car wash attendant at Blue Earth Auto & Truck Stop until 2011. While he worked in different capacities through the years, Bob''s passion was farming and he always wanted to visit about farming related topics. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and later St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served at church usher for over 40 years. He routinely enjoyed breakfast and coffee with the Country Kitchen morning group.Bob is survived by his Nephew, Roger (Nancy) Kabe of Mason City, Iowa, Niece, Kathy Engman (special friend Jim Droegemueller) of Fairmont, nephew, Steven (Barbara) Kabe of Madison, Wisconsin, nephew, Neil Kabe of Fairmont and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wayne Kabe and an infant sister.
