LLOYD STANLEY GAYLORD, age 84, of Blue Earth, died Monday, September 1, 2014, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 5:00 7:00 PM Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and 1 hour before the service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comHe was born June 28, 1930, at Blue Earth, the son of Stanley & Paula (Schulz) Gaylord. On June 14, 1958 he married Joyce I. Eckhardt at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, MN. He was a member of the 3rd Infantry during the Korean War. He worked for the Blue Earth School systems for 32 years retiring in 1985. Was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4580 and American Legion Post #89 of Blue Earth. Was an active member of the VFW Honor Guard for over 60 years, and he enjoyed fishing and gardening.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Gaylord of Blue Earth, son, Glenn (Janet) Gaylord of Blue Earth, daughter, Lynda (Dale) Henke of Blue Earth, granddaughter, Stefanie (John) Jaquette of Mankato, granddaughter, Christine Henke of Blue Earth, 4 great-grandchildren Lily, Max, and Claire Jaquette, and Layla Henke.He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Donna Hinrichsen.
