PHYLLIS (CHRISTIANSON) OLSON, age 96, of Blue Earth, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comPhyllis was born July 3, 1918, in rural Blue Earth, the daughter of Edwin and Emma (Schneider) Sasse. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1935 and took one year of Normal Training before teaching in country schools for a few years. She was married to Mynard T. Christianson on June 4, 1941. They had three children, Steve, Sue and Johnny. On December 5, 1948, as a result of a car accident, her husband and young son Johnny were killed. She then moved to town with her two remaining children. Phyllis worked at Blue Earth State Bank for 24 years as a teller. She was married to Gilbert "Gib" Olson on June 25, 1966. The couple enjoyed many summers in their trailer: first in Walker, MN and later in Park Rapids. Gib passed away in October of 1981. Phyllis is a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She always enjoyed her family and many friends.Phyllis is survived by her son, Steve (Patty) Christianson of Blue Earth, her daughter, Sue (Arvin) Cohrs of Westbrook, grandchildren: Odi (Monica) Christianson, David (Kim) Christianson, Adam Gorg, Brad (Hillary) Cohrs, Curt (Erica) Cohrs, Lisa (Derrick) Dahl, great grandchildren: Paige, Leah, Jaiden & Harlee Christianson, Kolt Gorg, Holden Tesch, Katie (Darrin) Cohrs Bebo, Mikayla Cohrs, Natalie Cohrs, Tyler, Devon & Levi Dahl, and one great great granddaughter, Kinley Dahl.She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son-Johnny and two brothers and their wives, Ernest (Irene) Sasse and Arlie (Doreen) Sasse.
