Erwin L. Nolte, age 100, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comErwin was born February 5, 1914, in Tenhassen Township, Martin Co., MN, the son of Fred and Ada (Eversman) Nolte. He was raised in the Fairmont area where he attended school. He was married to Ethel L. Mathews on June 22, 1941 at St.Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. The couple resided in Blue Earth before Erwin entered the Army during WWII. Following his services he returned to Blue Earth where became a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a postal worker for many years before retiring. Erwin was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth where he taught Sunday School and was an usher for many years. He has also been an active volunteer for various community organizations and projects. Erwin is survived by his brother, Roy (Ann) Nolte of Moorhead and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Ethel in 1991 a sister, Pauline Willson and a brother, Earl Nolte.
