LILLY ALLEN, age 96, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, October 16, 2014, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Lake Lutheran Cemetery, Amboy Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. The family moved to Winnebago in 1919 where Lilly attended Winnebago public school, graduating in 1936. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Winnebago. She married Lloyd Allen on July 2, 1939 and the couple moved to Blue Earth in 1948. Lilly was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth and taught Sunday School there and at Our Savior Lutheran in Winnebago. She was also a member of the Martha Guild and Altar Guild at St. Paul''s. In Blue Earth, Lilly was a homemaker and was also employed at the Blue Earth Telephone Co., Fisher Drug and Snyder Drug in the cosmetic department. She enjoyed playing golf, watching Gopher Basketball and playing her favorite card game cribbage. She especially liked having friends & neighbors stop by for coffee, Norwegian coffee was her favorite. Friends were always welcome. Lilly is survived by her son, Ronald (Sandy) Allen of Victoria, MN, her grandchildren, Scott (Rose) Allen, of Roseville, MN and Rona (Bob) Hamann, of Otsego, MN and her great grandchildren: Erika Allen, Kasey Allen, Ryan Hamann and Tyler HamannShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Lloyd in 2002, a daughter, Jane Marie and two sisters & four brothers.
