WINSTON TAGATZ, age 89, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at his home.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 1:30 PM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. He went to school in Frost where he graduated from Frost High School in 1944. After high school he helped farm his family farm and later rented his own farm. He was married to Betty J. Bell on November 12, 1950 in Emerald Township, MN. Winston purchased the Phillips 66 Bulk Oil Co. in Blue Earth in the early 1960''s. He owned the oil co. for many years, retiring in 1991. Winston enjoyed woodworking, gardening, doing seasonal farm work and traveling with Betty during his retirement. Winston is survived by his his sons, Mark (Deb) Tagatz of Woodbury and Steve Tagatz of Blue Earth, his brother, Waldo (Charlotte) Tagatz of Rochester, his sisters-in-law: Kathryn Tagatz of Blue Earth, Priscilla Sohn of Long Lake, Clarice Burke of Rochester, grandchildren, Elizabeth & Michael Tagatz and several nieces & nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Betty in 2008 and a brother, Richard Tagatz
