Darlene Ruth Lyon, age 82, of Blue Earth died, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Joel DeNeui officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday, January 4, 2013 at Patton Funeral Home, and 1 hour before the service on Saturday. Burial will at a later date in Pilot Grove Township Cemetery rural Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comDarlene was born on December 14, 1930 in Winnebago, MN the daughter of Harry and Evelyn (Davis) Scott. She was raised and educated in Winnebago, MN. On June 22, 1948 in Sioux Falls, SD she married Howard William Lyon. Darlene stayed at home for many years while caring for her children. Once the children were grown and in school she worked outside of the home until her retirement in 2002. Darlene leaves behind her husband, Howard Lyon. She also leaves behind six children: Steven Lyon of Mancos, CO, Ruthanne (John) Ellis of Armstrong, Iowa, Bruce (Cindy) Lyon of Blue Earth, Scott (Kathy) Lyon of Blue Earth, Jeff Lyon of St. Paul, MN, and Shelley (Nick) Bleess of Blue Earth, sisters, Karen (John) Campbell of Buffalo, MN, Ann Hanna of Blue Earth, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and great-grandson Wyatt Simon.
