Ronald E. "Ron" Wischnewski, also known as "Polacko" age 70, of Blue Earth, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at peace in his home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Private burial will be in Ft Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation time will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Ron was born January 27, 1943, in Minneapolis, the son of Eward and Esther (Jacobsen)Wischnewski. He was raised in (Nordest) Minneapolis where he was a 1961 graduate of Edison high school. He attended the University of Minnesota prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Air force, where he proudly served with the 18th Fighter Interception Squadron "The Blue Foxes", achieving the rank of Sgt. He was truly honored to have had the privilege of serving with his crew in Grand Forks, N.D. Ron was honorably discharged from the Air force in 1968. He was married to Janine M. LeMay on June 18, 1977 in Apple Valley, MN. Ron was a mainframe computer engineer for Unisys Corp. He retired after 38 years of traveling to six continents as a steadfast ambassador and employee to his company. He, along with his wife, owned and operated the Garden Gate Studio. He was a talented artist and miniature woodworker whose creations are admired all over the world. Ron was a nationally licensed Pit Marshall for the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). He was a member of Alley 19 and the Clown Club of America, for 30 years "Polacko" delighted people everywhere. Ron was a proud member of the Blue Earth Lions Club as well as other charitable organizations he supported in his new community. Ron is survived by his wife, Janine Wischnewski of Blue Earth, his brothers: David (Arlene) Wischnewski of St. Anthony Village, Roger (Patricia) Wischnewski of Plymouth, Dale (Nora) Wischnewski of Litchfield, his aunts, Evelyn Custer of Columbia Heights & Dora Jacobsen of Columbia Heights and Nina Jacobsen of Edina as well as many relatives and friends. He was the proud godfather of 27 children who all survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
