GERALDINE GRACE SCHAAL, age 74, of Ledyard, Iowa died Monday, October 21, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Community Covenant Church in Huntley, with Rev. Dennis Anders officiating. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard, Iowa. Visitation time will be from Friday, October 25, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. She attended school in Pilot Grove and Elmore before moving to Blue Earth for her senior year, graduating in 1957. She lived most of her adult life in Blue Earth where she was a homemaker and had worked at Green Giant, United Hospital, St Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Telex and as curator of the Faribault Co. Historical Society Museum. She was blessed with five children and a wonderful life partner for forty years. Geraldine enjoyed crocheting, gardening, bingo, puzzle books, traveling and gambling at casinos. She also enjoyed shopping for clothes (especially shoes and white sweatshirts), playing cards with friends and spending time with her family and grandchildren. GERALDINE is survived by her life partner, Arden Kramersmeier of Ledyard, Iowa, her daughters, Ronda (Keith) Cooper of Winnebago, Jody (Bryan) Roarson of Sloan, Iowa, Sheila (Bruce) Helland of Winnebago, Michele Evans (& special friend Terry Peterson) of Sherburn, her sisters, Janice (Harold) Matteson of Lakefield and Sandy (Rick) Sukalski of Salt Lake City, Utah, three brothers, Darwin (Mary) Hagedorn of Ely, Darrell (Opal) Hagedorn of Fairmont, Wally (Connie) Hagedorn of Northfield, her daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Schaal of Nokesville, VA, sisters-in-law, Betty Hagedorn of Ely and Betty Hagedorn of Blue Earth, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, son Monty Schaal, brothers, Ronnie, Merrill, Kenneth, Roger and Don Hagedorn and her sisters Betty Ogilive and Jackie Schwager.
