Lorraine V. Hilpipre, age 85 of Blue Earth, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11:00 am and visitation one hour prior to the service at Faith Lutheran Bretheren Church in Blue Earth with Rev. Brent Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4 to 7 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth. Web tributes can be left at www.pattonfh.com Lorraine was born June 15, 1928 in Frost, MN the daughter of Martin and Lillian M. (Paulson) Skogen. She attended district 117 country school in Frost. She has resided in Frost, Blue Earth, MN, Decatur, Rossville and Eatonton, Georgia. Lorraine loved to crochet rugs and made hundreds of them for gifts and to give away. Her hands were always busy with knitting something to give away. Her most recent talent was dedicated to making weighted blankets for autistic children. She made over 60 blankets for children in Minnesota and Georgia. Lorraine loved to cook and can and was very well known for her deer jerky she made from her own special recipe. She was married to William M. Childs in 1948. To that marriage 6 children were born. She married Raymond R. Hilpipre on August 3, 1968 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a member of St. Stevens Lutheran church in Decatur, GA and later St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Ft. Ogelthorpe, GA. She currently attended Faith Lutheran Church in Blue Earth and Lake Oconee Lutheran Church, Eatonton, Ga.Lorraine is survived by her husband, Ray Hilpipre of Eatonton GA, sons, Thomas (Kathie) Childs of Fairmont & Bill (Liz) Childs of Asheville, NC, daughters: Susan (Mark) Hauskins of Blue Earth, MN, Rebecca (Terry) Markert of Decatur, GA, Lori (Dennis) Stapp of Eatonton, GA, brothers, Ordell (Arlis) Skogen of Jackson MN, Marvin (Sharon) Skogen of Massalon, Ohio, sisters: Margaret Hauge of Blue Earth, Eleanor (Marvill) Selvig of Blue Earth, Delores (Leo) Zinnel of Estherville, Iowa, Barbara Pawloski of Blue Earth, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Sheila Ferguson.
