Memorial services for Patricia L. Amundson will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2011 at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Innichement will take place in Sun City West, Arizona at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at St. Luke''s. Amundson passed away peacefully on February 1, 2012, in Blue Earth MN. Prior to living in Blue Earth, she had lived in Staples MN, Brainerd MN, Watertown SD and Sun City West AZ. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Grant, whom she married on Christmas Day 1945 after his return from active duty in the Army Air Corps in Europe.Pat was born on April 7, 1922, to Frank and Esther McGivern. She was agraduate of Staples High School and Hamline University in St. Paul. Pat taught in Motley MN and Watertown SD and was an active church and big band musician everywhere she lived, both as a pianist and vocalist. She was active in PEO and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church.Pat was preceded in death by her parents and husband as well as by sisters Marion Stone of Staples MN and Betty Anfinson of Edina MN. She is survived by her children Kristen Amundson of Alexandria VA, Steven Amundson (Anna) of San Diego CA, and Susan Ellingsen (Mike) of Blue Earth MN, four grandchildren: Sara Conrath of Bethesda, MD, Andrew (Eric) Elingsen of Decorah, Iowa, Katherine Ellingsen of Minneapolis, Grant Amundson of San Diego, CA, special friend John Daly and many other friends and relatives.
