MARGIE LAVON HOLLAND, age 89, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth, surrounded by her minister and family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Arthur Keith officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services at the church. She was raised and educated in Blue Earth where she attended schools. Margie was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church (now Hope United Methodist Church) where she was baptized in 1923 and later confirmed. Margie was married to Gerhard H. Holland on September 28, 1940 in Blue Earth. Margie was a homemaker and was very involved with the church where she was member of several circles and was a chaperon for a youth mission trip. She was a great cook, baker, loved to play cards with family and friends and was a wonderful flower and vegetable gardener. Her family was most precious to her.Margie is survived by her son, Greg (Diane) Holland of Blue Earth, her son, Bill Holland and special friend Nancy Westerhause of Osceola, WI. her brother, Harland (Shirley) Henke of Farmington, her brother, Bob (Marce) Henke of Amarillo, TX., her brother in law, Harmon Wilke of Knoxville, Iowa, her sister, Maxine (Bob) Ikier of Mankato, her five grandchildren, and her seven great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Gary in 2003, 2 sisters: Lucille Pirsig and Arlene Wilke and a brother-in-law, Marvin Pirsig.
