Naomie Omland, age 74, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012, at 1:00 PM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Visitation time will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com Memorial donations are preferred to United Hands Hospice.Naomie was born November 2, 1937, in Alexandria, MN, the daughter of Herbert and Josephine (Hawkins) Linser. She was raised in Alexandria where she was a 1955 graduate of Alexandria High School. She worked at the local telephone company before her marriage to LeRoy Omland on August 2, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The couple lived in St. Paul before moving to Albert Lea in 1964. They came to Blue Earth in 1974 where Naomie was a secretary at B & M Ag and later at KBEW for 10 years plus, retiring in 1999. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir for many years. Naomie was a wonderful flower gardner- her favorite were her giant Hibiscus. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center, crocheting, having coffee parties and playing bridge and five hundred with her many friends.Naomie is survived by her husband, LeRoy Omland of Blue Earth, her son, Brian ( Jody) Omland of Blue Earth, her daughter, Pamela ( Gary) True of Granada, and her grandchildren: Bradley & Molly Omland and Anthony True.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother- Herbert "Sonny" Linser, Jr.
