CHARLES W. "CHUCK" PINGRY, age 83, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at First Presbyterian Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Janet Crissinger-Clark officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and one hour before the service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comHe was born October 17, 1928, at Riceville, IA, the son of Gary and Erma (Frazer) Pingry. He was raised in Riceville, Iowa where he was a 1946 graduate of Riceville High School. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1951 and later served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, being discharged in 1953 He was married to Arlene M. Johnson on January 24, 1954 in Algona, Iowa. In 1955 he began working for Green Giant in Vinton, Iowa and was transferred to Blue Earth in 1956. He was transferred to Montgomery, MN in 1960 and he returned to Blue Earth permanently in 1964. He retired in 1972. Chuck owned & operated Anchor Realty & Development in Blue Earth, which became Anchor Property Services, until August 2011. Chuck was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Jaycees, Masons, Shriners, Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce, Scout Master, Past President of the Blue Earth Lions Club, Blue Earth School Board member for eight years, served as a Faribault Co. Commissioner from 1982 -1990, Board member of MRCI in Mankato for over 35 years, was involved with the Relay For Life event for many years and was a lifetime member of the Blue Earth VFW post 4580 and American Legion Post 89. He received the WCCO Good Neighbor Award in 1990 and the Blue Earth Community Service Award in 1995.Chuck is survived by his sons, Greg (Elena) Pingry of Muskego, Wisconsin and Brian (Laura) Pingry of Fr. Myers, Florida, son-in-law Jay Ruby of Lakota, IA , seven grandchildren, Lisa(Todd), Michael(fianc Alicia), Ben(Ashley), Josh, Amanda, Jessica, Jared, and one great grandchild Jackson.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Arlene in 1991, daughter-Char Ruby in 1999 and a sister, Virginia Furguson in 1985.
