Wanda E. Kallestad

WANDA E. KALLESTAD, age 88, of Blue Earth, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at United Hospital, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 10:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial will be in United Lutheran Cemetery, Frost, Minnesota. Visitation time will be from 4:00 PM 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 18 & 1 Hour prior to the services at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comWanda was born September 16, 1923, in Frost, the daughter of Oliver and Mabel (Graue) Savick.She was raised in the Frost area, graduating from Frost High School in 1941. She was married to Raymond G. Hanson in January of 1943 in Blue Earth and was later married to Ernest M. Kallestad in February of 1961 in Frost. Wanda was a talented seamstress. She worked at Westerland Interiors for several years where she made window treatments and draperies for private homes and area businesses. She had also worked at Armon Decorating producing the same high quality sewing projects. She made clothes for all her children and several prom and wedding dresses for friends, neighbors and for those who knew of her sewing abilities. Wanda had a great love for babies and children; she made her children''s birthday cakes from scratch, she enjoyed sewing stuffed toys and dolls, she also crafted many decorations from yarn and plastic canvas. Wanda also reupholstered and refinished furniture. She was a longtime member of United Lutheran Church in Frost. She is survived by her daughter, Carole (Robert) Haugen of Blue Earth, her Son, Thomas Hanson & Shelley Williams of Rochester, her Son, Mark (Sharron) Hanson of Mountain Lake, her Daughter, Gloria Weber of Blue Earth, her Daughter, Dawn (Douglas) Willner of Fairmont, her Daughter, Kay (Galen) Lenort of Walters, her Daughter, Karen Kallestad of Blue Earth, her Daughter, Kelly Blake & Sherman Morgenstern of Albert Lea, her Brother, Richard Savick of St. Claire, Special Nephew, Earl "Buddy" Davidson, 26 Grandchildren & 33 Great GrandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Raymond Hanson & Ernest Kallestad, 2 sisters, Della Bakke & Verna "Billie" Sabin, 4 infant brothers, Otto, Oliver, Milton & Robert Savick, & son Gary Lewis Hanson.
