Lowell Amundson

LOWELL AMUNDSON, age 85, of Frost, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at St. Mary''s Hospital, Rochester. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Arne Halbakken officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services. He was raised and educated in Frost where he attended Frost High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1945. Following his service he attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and returned to Frost where he farmed for many years. He was married to Evelyn I. Rush on March 25, 1956 at St. Olaf Lutheran Chapel in Austin, MN. Lowell is survived by his wife, Evelyn Amundson of Frost, his son, David Amundson (Pat McCabe) of Blue Earth, his son, Paul Amundson of Frost, his brother, Justus Amundson of Frost, his sister, Geraldine Aslakson of Minot, North Dakota, his grandson, Josh Amundson of Blue Earth, and family friend, Paul Osterholt, of Ames, Iowa.Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Beryl Bjorgan and her husband Dr. G.R. Bjorgan and a brother-in-law, Richard Aslakson.In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the InterFaith Care Givers Parkinsons Awarness Group or the Mayo Clinic Heart Research Foundation.
