Ronald M. Ristau

RONALD MARCELL RISTAU, age 90, of Elmore, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at his home.Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at St. John''s Lutheran Church in Elmore, with Rev. Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will be at a later date . Visitation time will be from 4-7:00pm Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. He was born August 20, 1922, at Elmore Township, the son of Edward and Emma (Peter) Ristau. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John''s Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. After serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific after World War II, he farmed in Elmore Township for 50 years. He was an avid gardener and enthusiastic reader. Because he wholeheartedly pursued his passions, he was a wonderful example not only to his children but also to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Virginia (Smith) Ristau of Elmore, son, Kevin (Kris Jacobs) Ristau of St. Paul, daughter, Julie (Jay Walljasper) Ristau of Minneapolis, son, Todd (Diane) Ristau of Elmore, sister, Donna Hanson of Blue Earth, sister, Darlene Evans of Park Rapids, MN, and 4 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.
