DELNA L. GESCHE, age 92, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Tom Butler officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, Minnesota. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comDelna was born August 31, 1918, in Wells, MN, the daughter of August and Lillian (Schroeder) Schulz.She was raised and educated in Wells where she graduate from Wells High School. Delna taught country school from 1937 - 1943. She was married to Ivan K. Gesche on June 14, 1944 in Minnesota Lake, MN. Later she went back and got her college diploma in 1968. She taught then in the Keister-Walters school system, beginning in Walters School and later moving to Kiester, from 1969 to 1982. She taught 3rd, 4th & 5th grade. She was a teacher''s teacher. She not only taught the coarse curriculum but taught about life which included completing your work, honesty, loyality, intergity, learning the required material and achieving. She put herself into teaching her students. Delna was also a member of the United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women''s Group and was involved in Garden Club and Happy Neighborhood Club.Delna is survived by her son, Gregg (Mary) Gesche of Merrill, Iowa, her son, Paul (Rebecca) Gesche of Blue Earth, her brother, Wally Schulz of Rochester, six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ivan in 2010.
