Pleasanton, California- Darlene Kaye Moore (Prechel), age 50, of Pleasanton, California, formerly of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully April 6, 2011, at her home.Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with viewing beginning at 11:00am and graveside burial following services.Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth is assisting the family with the services. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comDarlene was born Mar. 30, 1961 in Blue Earth to Marvin and Beverly (Prechel) (Zutz). She grew up in Blue Earth and started working at a young age on her grandparents farm and Hardies restaurant. After moving to Mankato and graduating from Mankato West High School in 1979 she moved to Santa Rosa, California. Eventually moving to the San Francisco bay area and working with Nabisco for 19 years during which she was selected for a special project and won the President''s award. Darlene then started work with Syvox Corp. of Boulder, CO. as a field engineer implementing warehouse "pick to voice" software that she had also done for Nabisco. In 1990 she met Jean Paul Moore and in 1991 married him at The Little Brown Church in Sunol, California.Darlene earned her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) 2005 and was chosen to be the student speaker for graduation. None of the class or the administration knew she completed her last three classes while on chemotherapy for the cancer that eventually took the life of her body. Being a woman of faith kept her going for over 6 years in her fight against cancer. She loved to travel and go cruising the Caribbean with friends and just being with her husband no matter where the adventure. She was also quite the gardener and proud of her many beautiful rose bushes.She is survived by her loving husband, Jean Paul Moore, her brother, Dexter Prechel, her nephew, Aaron Prechel, her uncle and aunt Calvin and Darlene Zutz and their children, her twin goddaughters, Dominique and Danielle Moyco. She is preceded in death by her mother Beverly Jean Zutz, her father Marvin Walter Prechel, her grandparents Alfred and Mathilda Zutz and Walter and Elsie Prechel.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
