Maynard S. Sunken, age 73, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at his home. Visitation time will be Friday, April 22, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMaynard was born August 22, 1937, in Frost, MN, the son of Sute and Opal (Kleindl) Sunken.Maynard had worked as a farmer for several years and later worked for Weber Co. as a video game and vending machine distributor and repairman. He was known for his extensive vegetable gardens; people from all over the area purchased his vegetables for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family.Maynard is survived by his daughter, Dawn Cerbana of Owatonna, his daughter, Jody Ihle of Darien, WI, his daughter, Shelly (Mike) Carlson of Frost, his son, Maynard "Chip" Sunken of Owatonna, his brother, Gary (Ellen) Sunken of Blue Earth, his brother, Dean Sunken of Sturgis, Michigan, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Terry Sunken, sister, Doris Newville and brothers, Lloyd and Rick Sunken.
