KATHLEEN L. PHIPPS, age 90, of Blue Earth, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 , at 11:00AM , at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Brother Jon Moore officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Winnebago. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, May 19, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comKathleen was born May 3, 1921, in Madelia, MN, the daughter of "Norris" and Pearl (Kinney) Sullivan.She was a 1939 graduate of Winnebago High School and attended Minneapolis Business College. She was married to James W. Phipps on February 7, 1948 in Winnebago. Kathleen was a medical records transcriptionist at United Hospital in Blue Earth for many years. She was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was a Catholic Daughter. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and many other local organizations. She was also a longtime volunteer at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. She enjoyed cooking, candy making and playing bridge with friends at bridge clubs. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Jim Phipps of Blue Earth , her daughters: Susan Phipps of Blue Earth, Theresa (Jim) Brod of New Prague, Patty (Bill) Remmert of New Ulm, Leslie Phipps of Eagle Lake, brothers, John Paul (Mary Nell) Sullivan of Charleston, South Carolina & Chuck (Jonnie) Sullivan of Stockton , California, six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents.
