MILDRED E. JONES, age 95, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Dave Drescher officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 11:00 AM to noon on Friday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMildred was born June 11, 1915, at Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Lindemann) Tjaden. She was raised and educated in Iowa and South Dakota where she was a 1933 graduate of Brookings, SD High School. Her family moved to Winnebago in the mid 1930''s where she attended Mankato Business College. She worked at a bank in Mankato prior to her marriage to Edmund O. Jones on August 25, 1939 in Winnebago. The couple farmed near Winnebago and moved to Blue Earth in 1950. Mildred was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church in Winnebago for more than 60 years. She was a founding member of the Round Table Study Club in Winnebago and was in Blue Earth with the Christian Women''s Club, was a 4H Leader. Commitment to family, service to community and devotion to the Lord were paramount in her life.Mildred is survived by her son, Larry O. (Ilse) Jones of Faribault, daughter, Marcia (Robert) Grant of New Hope, her daughter, Sharon (Philip) Carlson of Golden Valley, her daughter, Jolene Krussow of Blue Earth, her sister, Opal (Eldon) Jones of Winnebago, her sister, Donna Mae Tjaden of Blue Earth, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 step great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Edmund in 2000 and two sisters, Ruth Tyler and Gladys Lindberg.
