MAVIS L BOETTCHER, age 83, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, September 15, 2011, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Dale Kohrs, officiating. Burial will be in St. John''s Lutheran Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be one hour prior to the service at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMavis was born December 7, 1927, in Faribault Co, MN. the daughter of Ohmer and Frieda (Schanzenbach) Gust.She was raised and educated in Blue Earth area where she was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church.She was married to Raymond E. Boettcher on August 8, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. The couple farmed in Elmore Township for many years and Mavis was a longtime member of St. John''s Lutheran Church in Elmore. She was active in the Ladies Aide and was secretary of the St. John''s Cemetery Association for many years. She enjoyed baking, various crafting projects, traveling in the U.S.and to Germany, and time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren.Mavis is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Dr. Ardon) Crandall of Rochester, her daughter, Peggy (Robert) Benjamin of Blue Earth, her daughter, Jane (Jon) Stevermer of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, her son, Robert (Nitah) Boettcher of Blue Earth, her sister, Jean Johnson of Montezuma, Iowa, her sister, Joyce (Duane) Ehrich of Blue Earth, her half-sister, Genevieve Kershaw of Richmond, Virginia, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1994, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
