Dorothy L. Nesheim, age 92, of Frost, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth, with Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial will follow in United Lutheran Cemetery, Frost. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com.Dorothy was born February 6, 1919 in Norway Township Winnebago County, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Ada (Severson) Folken. She was raised in Scarville, Iowa; around the age of 13 the family moved to Frost. Dorothy married Wilbur C. Nesheim on November 9, 1940; Rev. Mosby performed the service at the church parsonage in Dell. Dorothy was a homemaker and over the years was active in helping with the Boy/Girl Scouts. She also worked for her sister Thelma and brother-in-law, Tim Njoes at their caf in Frost. She enjoyed gardening & her flowers, sewing and always looked forward to spending time at Crosslake in the summer. She loved dogs and raised poodles for a short time. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren- taking care of them and watching them grow. She was a member of United Lutheran Church in Frost where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Frost Senior Citizens, where she loved to visit and play cards. After he husband''s death in 2000 she moved to New Life Manor in Blue Earth and then to St. Luke''s Care Center in 2006. She survived two heart attacks in 2008. Dorothy is survived by her son, Tom (Cheryl) Nesheim of Blue Earth, daughter, Carolyn (Terry) Mikkelson of Blue Earth, three grandchildren, Kerrie of Blue Earth, Tim and Kristen of Minneapolis, sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Glen) and Dorothy (Wally) Nesheim of Mankato, Dorothy (Kenneth) Nesheim of Faribault, and LaVonne Gray of Knoxville, Iowa.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wilbur in 2000 and a sister, Thelma Njoes in 1994.
