Gertrude L. (Oehrlein) Walker, age 96, of Blue Earth, formerly of Sauk Center, MN, died Monday, October 10, 2011, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev.Karl Rydholm, officiating. Burial will be in Benton County Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. She was baptized on July 11, 1915 at St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church in Sauk Center, MN. She was raised and educated in Sauk Center where she attended high school. She was married to Miles E. Walker on July 22, 1933 at Mayhew Lake in Benton County, MN. Gert was a homemaker who resided in Sauk Center, Blue Earth & Fairmont before coming to Blue Earth permanently in 2002. She had worked at Tony Downs Foods in St. James and was a foster Grandparent to needy children in the St. Cloud Area. Gert enjoyed crocheting, knitting, fishing and playing cards. She has been a resident of St. Luke''s Care Center since 2007. Gertrude is survived by her granddaughter, Cheryl (Mark) Teems of Blue Earth, her grandson, David (Denise) Pfaffinger of Blue Earth, her grandson, Dan Pfaffinger of Blue Earth and great grandchildren: Jeff Pfaffinger, Rachel (Dusty) Cole, Taylor & Trevor Teems.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Miles in 1963, an infant daughter-Elaine, daughter-Kathleen Pfaffinger in 2008, an infant granddaughter, a son-in-law Edward Pfaffinger, seven brothers: Ben, Emil, Ed, George, Albert, Nick & Jack and 6 sisters: Rose, Mabel, Lil, Lorraine, Frances and Louise.
