Marie E. Brodie, age 90, of Blue Earth, died Monday, October 17, 2011, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMarie was born January 4, 1921, at Pilot Grove Township, MN, the daughter of Frederick and Amelia (Mahlow) Brodie. She was baptized at Pilot Grove Lutheran Church on August 28, 1921 and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth where she belonged to the Martha Guild and Noami Circle. She grew up in Faribault Co. on a farm. In 1945 her family moved to Blue Earth; she was a Faribault Co. resident all her life. She had worked at the Friesen Variety Store, Central Caf, Home Caf, Wellington Hotel and had done housework at various places. She loved flowers and gardening. Marie is survived her longtime special friend Justus Amundson, her nephew, William Snow & wife Marcia and their children Amelia Marie and Nathan W. Snow, her nephew Fred Snow and his former wife Janice Snow and their children Debbie, Diana and David Snow and several other cousins.She was preceded in death by her father in 1963, her mother in 1988 and her sister, Neva Brodie Snow McGrady on May 20, 1990.
