Wayne J. Anderson

Wayne J.E. Anderson, age 84, died at his home in Blue Earth, MN on November 24, 2011. Visitation will be at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth on Monday, November 28 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at East Chain Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m., with burial following at East Chain Lutheran Cemetery. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comWayne was born March 30, 1927 in East Chain Township in Martin County, and raised in Pleasant Prairie Township, the son of Victor Anderson and Anna (Ficken) Anderson. He was confirmed by Pastor Arthur Gustafson at East Chain Lutheran Church, and was a long-time member. He graduated from East Chain High School in 1947. He married Fern Coombes on September 11, 1948 and farmed in Pleasant Prairie Township. In 1960 they moved to Center Creek Township and farmed there, and in 1997 they moved to Blue Earth. He was a member of the Cattlemen''s Association, Guckeen Elevator Board, Riverside Golf Course, and served on the Church Council. Wayne is survived by, and was a devoted husband to, Fern, a loving father to Carolyn Grussing and her husband Paul of Fairmont, son Michael Anderson and his wife Pat of Phoenix, AZ, and an adoring grandfather to Matthew Grussing and his wife Valerie of Silver Spring, MD, granddaughter Robin Hollowell and her two sons, grandson Kevin Ray and his wife Kathleen and their two children, and a dedicated brother to Helen Kabe of Fairmont, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Dorothy Nielsen and Darlene Planting. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Hands Hospice and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
