MAVIS JEANETTE SILRUM, age 91, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 03, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Arne Halbakken, and Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation time will be from 1 hour before the service, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe was born April 15, 1920, at Blue Earth, the daughter of George and Gladys (Lane) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Blue Earth graduating in 1938. She was married to Thilmer O. Silrum on March 8, 1940 in Blue Earth. Together they farmed near Bricelyn for more than 20 years before moving to Eau Claire, WI in 1961. They returned a year later and purchased the furniture store in Bricelyn, Silrum Furniture. Together they owned and operated the furniture store before becoming a sales rep for Lawson Furniture in Winnebago. Mavis was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she served with many activities over the years. She enjoyed baking, and was a avid Minnesota Viking fan. She is survived by her Daughter, Karen (Arlyn) Klatt of Blue Earth, her Sister, Doris Erichsrud of Minneapolis, 3 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Thilmer in 2008, son T.
