Edith L. (Keyser) Eastvold, age 86, passed away Monday, December 12th, 2011, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth, MN. Edith suffered with Alzheimer''s disease. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth, with Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Edith was born April 21st, 1925, in Lake Crystal, MN, the daughter of Elbert and Ella (Evenson) Keyser. She was raised in the Lake Crystal, Amboy and Garden City areas and graduated from Garden City High School. She attended nurse''s training and was a 1947 graduate of the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. Edith was married to Wayne C. Eastvold on February 8th, 1948 in Winnebago. She worked as a nurse at the Winnebago Hospital until 1963 when she became the Director of Nursing at the Baptist Home in Winnebago; she retired in 1981. Edith & Wayne enjoyed dancing and traveling in their motorhome, and after retirement, made frequent trips to the warmer southern states. They were members of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Winnebago. Edith volunteered her nursing services for many years at the local blood drives in Winnebago, and was a girl scout leader. She enjoyed needlepoint, and a good crossword puzzle. Edith and Wayne lived most of their lives in Winnebago, and moved to Blue Earth in 2002; Edith entered St. Luke''s on her 80th birthday.Edith is survived by her husband, Wayne of Blue Earth, her brother Dale (Wilma) of Aurora, CO, her daughter Paulette (Thomas) Wilhelmi of Minnesota Lake, her daughter Maryetta (Thomas) Hendricks of Minnetonka, her son Mark of Winnebago, her daughter Ann (Kevin) Skaare of Blue Earth, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers (Orville, John and Don Keyser), sister Ruth (Loren) Nessler, son-in-law, Gary Vance, grandson Michael Vance and great granddaughter Lillian Lud.
