Gladys Schwab

June 2, 1910 — February 14, 2010

Gladys was born June 2, 1910, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Warren and Luella (Wilson) Wildes. She was raised and educate in Blue Earth where she attended schools. She was married to Fred P. Schwab on December 21, 1929 in Winnebago. Gladys was a homemaker and had worked at the Vienna Bakery and seasonally with Green Giant Co. She was a member of Garden Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, all in Blue Earth. She loved being outdoors and tending her many flower gardens. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Betty Engleby (& significant other Don Sefanske) of Mankato, her son, Roger (& Dee) Schwab of Granada, her daughter, Marian Grotzinger of Fairmont, her son, Harlan Schwab of Grand Marais, her sister, Stella (& Clarence) Ballard of Minneapolis, sister-in-law Golda Schwab,25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1998, brother, Jon Wildes, daughters, Lois Yeager, Sheryl Schwab & Phyllis Kregnes, and infant son, Alan John Schwab, granddaughters, Sandra Grotzinger & Kim Yeager,and Baby Goraczkowski, and sons-in-law, Robert Engleby, Ed Grotzinger and Fred Yeager.
