Gerald Blom

February 18, 1929 — April 7, 2010

Gerald was born February 18, 1929, at Pleasant Prairie Township, MN, the son of Joseph and Susan (Reinhardt) Blom. He was raised and educated in Pleasant Prairie Township and East Chain Schools. He was married to Donamae D. Hauskins on July 16, 1948 at the EUB Church in Blue Earth. The couple lived between Swea City and Armstrong, Iowa before Gerald began farming his family farm near Guckeen in 1951. He continued farming that same farm for 53 years, retiring in 2004. Gerald loved farming, raising cattle, hunting deer & pheasants and loved to fish up north. He was a longtime Pilot Grove 4H leader and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, ASC offices and was a faith full blood donor- recently receiving his 18 gallon award. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Pilot Grove and served on the Pilot Grove Township Board. Gerald is survived by his wife, Donamae Blom of Blue Earth, his daughter, Pam (Bruce) Milbrandt of Storm Lake, Iowa, his daughter, Julie D''Amico of Orlando, Florida, his daughter, Janie (Don) Anderson of Blue Earth, his son-in-law, Steve Komarek of Cumberland, Wisconsin, his sister, Vivian Danks of Blue Earth, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren at present. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Komarek, and brothers Lester and Russell Blom.
