Mina was born July 21, 1931, at Crosby, MN, the daughter of John and Alta (Oppelt) Van Epps. She lived in Crosby until 1940 when she moved to Austin, MN. She was a 1949 graduate of Austin High School. Mina moved to Frost in 1968 and was married to Robert M. Asmus in December 1968 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a member of the Blue Earth American Legion Auxiliary before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1982 where she worked as a switchboard operator at the prestigious Brown Palace Hotel. She retired in 1995 and returned to Blue Earth in 2001. Mina is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Tunison of Hayfield, daughter, Connie Remke of Henderson, Colorado, her daughter, Mara Ruff of Denver, Colorado, her daughter, Jackie Christgau of Austin, her daughter, Kathy Goodell of St. Paul, her son, Roger Asmus of Belmond, Iowa, her son, Donald Asmus of Blue Earth, her daughter, Robin Stenzel of Delavan, her daughter, Linda Brazell of Blackhawk, Colorado, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Asmus in 1977, and a brother, Jack Van Epps.
