Ruby I. TRUE

Ruby was born February 1, 1913, at Humboldt Co., Iowa, the daughter of Osmund and Stena (Tesdahl) Viland. The family moved to Minnesota when Ruby was 3 years old. She attended country school and Elmore High School. Ruby married Melvin Red True on December 4, 1932 in Fairmont. She and her husband farmed in Pilot Grove Township for more than 50 years. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Circle at Salem until its closure in 1993, at which time she joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards, playing golf and wintering at their Arizona home. Ruby is survived by her son, Ronald (Donna) True of Albert Lea, her son, Donald (Colleen) True of Blue Earth, her daughter, Susan Cassens of Blue Earth, her sister, Evelyn Shock of Rapid City, South Dakota 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin in 1996, son-in-law, Larry Cassens, brothers, Roy and Orville Viland and sister Esther Fussner.
