Elaine M. Olson

Elaine was born April 6, 1921, in Blue Earth, the daughter of Maynard and C. Bertha (Hensel) Olson. She was raised and educated in Blue Earth where she was a 1939 graduate of Blue Earth High School. She was baptized on May 1, 1921 and confirmed on June 16, 1935 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, where she was a lifetime member and was active in the Naomi Guild. Elaine was married to John S. Jack Olson on March 22, 1943 in Blue Earth. Elaine answered the phone and did bookwork for the family plumbing business, J.S. Olson Plumbing and Heating. She also made custom draperies for area families for many years. She was a wonderful gardener of flowers and vegetables and was a 50 year volunteer with the American Red Cross. Elaine is survived by her sisters in law, Phyllis Olson of Minnetonka, Lilly Allen of Blue Earth, Rose Mary Rogers of Albuquerque, New Mexico and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1983, brothers, Odeen and Morris Olson, sisters-in-law, Gladys Wegenast and Edna Hansen and brothers-in-law, Harold Olson, Lloyd Allen and Raymond Hansen.
