Helen was born July 28, 1946, in Blue Earth, the daughter of Elbert and Lydia (Nase) Haase. She was baptized in 1946 and confirmed in 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Blue Earth. In 1964 Helen graduated from Blue Earth High School as co-salutatorian of her class. She attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana from 1964 to 1969, earning a degree in Theology becoming commissioned as a deaconess in the Lutheran Church. She was employed by the Lutheran Deaconess Association as an assistant to the executive director. Helen married Richard Meyers and the couple moved to Oscoda, Michigan where Mr. Meyer operated a portrait studio. Helen taught at Zion Lutheran Parochial School Tawas City, Michigan. The Meyers were blessed with identical twin sons, Dale & Daniel while living in Michigan. During the 1970s Richard took a job managing a portrait studio in Cincinnati, OH, so the family moved there. Helen worked as a church secretary, representative for AAL, and administrative assistant and an accountant while in Ohio. She also took 1600 hours of clinical pastoral education and worked as a chaplain at University Hospital and Christ Hospital and Clinics. In 1999 Richard died at the age of 73. On August 12, 2000 marked the beginning of a new era as Helen married Armand Tesch of Coon Rapids, MN. While in Coon Rapids Armand retired from Walker Parking Consultants and Helen worked at Family of Christ Church as an administrative aid to the Director of Christian Education and also with the Human Care Ministries. In 2008 the couple moved to Blue Earth where Helen became the director of Interfaith Caregivers-Faith in Action. Unfortunately, Helen was diagnosed with cancer soon after and had to retire in April of 2010. Helen is survived by her Husband, Armand Tesch of Blue Earth, her son, Dale (Elaina) Meyers of Cincinnati, Ohio, her son, Daniel Meyers of Oxford, Ohio, her daughter, Diane (Al) Hartleib of Blaine, her daughter, Bonnie (Gregg) Hinz of Fridley, her daughter, Gail (Dan) Hansen of Rochester, her son, David Tesch of Coon Rapids, her sister, Karen (Jerry) Loftis of Phoenix, Arizona, her sister, Lorna (Neil) Braun of Las Vegas, her brother, Don (Leona) Haase of Blue Earth, her brother, Paul (Virginia) Haase of Blue Earth, her brother, Ken (Cathy) Haase of Blue Earth, and six Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard and sister, Marion Tesch.
