Darla Welsh

Darla was born January 8, 1955, in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Vivian (Phelps) Knospe. She was raised and educated in Elkport, Iowa and graduated from Elkader High School in 1973. She was married to Kenneth James Welsh on July 10, 1976 in New Hampton, Iowa. The couple moved to Huntley, MN in 1984 and lived in Blue Earth, MN and came to Elmore, MN 13 years ago, where they currently reside. Darla took vocational training and became a home health & nurses aid and has worked as a home health aid for 22 years. She worked with Prairie Land Health Care and also with the Assissi Group Homes. Darla was proud to be a member of the Freeborne County Victims of Crime Unit. She was also a member of a local Poetry Society, donated to the Locks of Love organization, and was a member of LEAP an advocacy group for handicapped and disabled citizens. Darla J. Welsh is survived by her husband, Kenneth Welsh of Elmore, her son, Kenny (Melissa) Welsh of Blue Earth, her son, Kevin Welsh (& special friend Allison Donnely) of Fairmont, her daughter, Jennifer White of Manchester, Iowa, her father, Eugene (Ruth) Knospe of Elkport, Iowa, her brother, Jack Knospe of Farmersburg, Iowa her brother, Louis Knospe of Colesburg, Iowa and six grandchildren, Liam, Jasmine, Dominic, Kyra, Katie and Ayden. She was preceded in death by her mother- Vivian and brother-in-law, Gary Welsh.
