Clarice was born June 12, 1919, in Bricelyn, the daughter of Eddie and Annie (Johnson) Hove. She grew up in and attended Rake, Iowa Schools. She was a housekeeper and worked at Hagges Restaurant before her marriage to Roy A. Rhoda on April 29, 1941 in Bricelyn. The couple farmed near Elmore for many years until 1971 when they moved to Elmore and purchased the Colonial Inn Restaurant. Later, Clarice worked and St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in the housekeeping department until retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Clarice loved to cook and was a wonderful baker and was known for her famous brownies. Clarice is survived by her daughter, Kaye (Arlan) Walton of Rochester, her daughter, Jackie (Tom) McNallan of Rochester, her sister, Thelma Roberts of Blue Earth, her sister, Arlean (George) Baker of Surprise, Arizona, her sister, Shirley (Tom) Helling of Hudson, Iowa, her brother in law, Dale Thompson, her sisters in law: LaVon Hove, Anola Hove & Iva Pannkuk, & her life long friend, Cary Taylor, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy in 2006, sisters: Gladys Keister, Emmeline Henning, Marjorie Thompson, brothers: Clifford, Orville & Arlow Hove and a grandson, Perry Walton.
