Vernette Bell

Vernette was born April 8, 1933, at Swea City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Alma (Cassem) Vogt. She was raised and educated in Blue Earth where she was a 1951 graduate of Blue Earth High School. She was married to Donald H. Bell on September 5, 1953 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. The couple has farmed the same farm near Blue Earth since 1956. Vernette was the office manager at the Faribault Co. ASC office during the 1950s and also was a secretary at Harry Hayes Realty during the 1950s. Later she was the secretary at St. Paul Lutheran Church for 10 years. Vernette was active with the county extension office and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aide, Circle and was an officer of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, hosting parties, gardening, playing cards and all her grandchildrens activities. Vernette is survived by her husband, Donald Bell of Blue Earth, her daughter, Julie (Mark) Burns of Town & Country, Missouri, her daughter, Trudy (Joseph) Allen of Savage, her son, Gary (Cheryl) Bell of Winnebago, her daughter, Nancee (Mike) Bischoff of Eagan, her daughter, Koni (Dave) Sjulstad of Eagan, her son, Corey (Cathy) Bell of Blue Earth, her sister, Dorothy (Donald) Stensland of Blue Earth, her sister, Shirley (Andy) Gudal of Bricelyn, her sister, Sandra Giese of Fergus Falls 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents ,a son-in-law, Mike Tines, and 3 brothers-in-law, Raymond Haugh, Norman Bell and BillGiese.Memorial donations are requested to United Hands Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
