Dorothy was born February 25, 1923 in Frost, MN the daughter of Charles and Amolia (Olson) Udstuen. She was raised and educated in the Bricelyn and Blue Earth areas where she attended schools. She had worked and lived with local families and worked at a grocery store until her marriage to Roy M. Hanson on August 8, 1943 in Oklahoma. The couple moved to Bricelyn in 1946, where Dorothy was a homemaker. Roy died in 1981. Dorothy married John A. Silrum on March 3, 1984 at Bethany Luthern Church, rural Frost. The couple resided in Blue Earth where they were members of Faith Lutheran Church where Dorothy was active in Bible Study and with the WMF Circle. She is survived by her daughter, Lavonne Thompson of Elmore, son, Kenneth (Kathy) Hanson of Austin, son, Keith (Laurie) Hanson of Mankato, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Schaper of Bricelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Hanson in 1981, husband, John Silrum in 2010, 6 brothers and 3 sisters
