Violet was born January 10, 1922, on the family farm in Rake, IA, the daughter of Gerhard and Mathilda (Bolstad) Tananger. She was raised and educated in Rake, graduating from Rake High School in 1939. She briefly attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa before her marriage to Orion Bud Jagerson on December 2, 1939. The couple farmed the family farm until Buds unexpected death in 1944. Violet was later married to Amil Haugen on August 22, 1947. Violet was a homemaker on the farm and helped raise 9 children. She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Rake where she was a past president of the ladies aide. Violet and Amil enjoyed wintering in various locations in the southern United States and even occasionally in Mexico. She most enjoyed the many gatherings of her blended family and spending time with her grandchildren. Violet is survived by her son, Douglas Jagerson of Prescott, Arizona, son, Scott (Marlys) Jagerson of Elmore, step daughter, Joan Hamre of Wallingford, Iowa, step daughter, Carol Zierke of Blue Earth, step son, Arlowe (Ruth) Haugen of Lakeville, MN, son, Gary Haugen of Rake, daughter, Dawn (Richard) Hanson of Blue Earth, 24 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchilren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud Jagerson in 1944, husband, Amil Haugen in 1998, a daughter, Gloria Risius, a son, Steven Haugen, sons-in-law: Harold Risius, Merle Zierke, Bud Hamre and 4 grandchildren, Kristie Ricke, Judy Ross, Wade Haugen and Jeff Zierke.
