Dorothy was born August 21, 1922, at Springfield Township, Iowa, the daughter of Walter J. and Olive M. (Lyon) Dutton. She was raised in Springfield Township, Iowa and in Blue Earth where she attended high school. She lived nearly her entire adult life in Blue Earth, where she was married to Vernon Pete Hanson on July 26, 1941. Pete worked at Green Giant and Dorothy was a homemaker and an over 20 year employee at Jubas Bakery. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Naomi Circle, Martha Guild and Riverside Town & Country Club. She also taught Sunday School for several years and was famous for her homemade apple pies. Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary (Judy) Hanson of Lanesboro, her son, Richard Dick (Dawn) Hanson of Blue Earth, her son, Brad (Pat) Hanson of Mankato, her sister, Marion Eastvold of Blue Earth, her brother, Ralph (Ilean) Dutton of Blue Earth, her brother, Robert (Laura) Dutton of Longfoot Key, Florida, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pete in 2001 and three sisters: Laura Cassem-Dobson, Helen Onsen and Elsie Dutton.
