Donald Wiese

Donald was born December 5, 1915, on a farm near Manson, Iowa, the son of William and Martha (Onken) Wiese.He attended country school near the place of his birth and was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Manson, Iowa on December 9, 1915. He was later confirmed there on April 13, 1930. Don helped his family on their family farm. When he was 15 years old he received his first new car, a 1930 model A Ford coupe with a rumble seat. Don has carried a passion for new cars ever since that day. Ironically, he did not care to travel. In February 1934 the Weise family moved to a farm near Marna, Minnesota, where Don attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Donald was married to Ardith L. Erickson on June 14, 1944 in Dunnell, MN. The couple farmed the Wiese family farm for over 39 years. They attended St. Paul Lutheran church and enjoyed playing golf for over 50 years and were longtime members of Riverside Country Club, Blue Earth. The couple retired to Blue Earth many years ago. Donald is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Ardith in 2006 and a sister, Dorelda Sippel in 1972.
