Thelma was born July 31, 1924, at rural Faribault County, MN, the daughter of Torvald and Olphina (Hendrickson) Soma. She attended rural Faribault County Schools where she graduated from High School. She was married to Bernard L. Anderson on November 12, 1942 in Grant City, Missouri. Thelma had worked for a canning factory in Albert Lea and drove a truck for a tile factory before beginning to work at the Blue Earth Hospital in 1959. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked nights at the hospital for 47 years, retiring at the age of 80. Thelma was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in church circle and taught Sunday School. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.She is survived by her son, Jerry Anderson of Buffalo Center, her 2 grandchildren, Blaine & Becca Anderson and 1 great grandson, Jace Anderson.She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter in 1946, husband- Bernard in 1962, her step-father, Hallet Dobson and 2 brothers, Severa "Benny" and Omar Soma.
