LORRAINE URBAN, age 71, of Amboy, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family.Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Amboy United Methodist Church. A private family memorial service will be held later.Should friend''s so desire, expressions of sympathy are preferred in the form of donations in Lorraine''s name to the organization of the donor''s choice. Lorraine was born July 3, 1936, in rural Blue Earth County, MN, the daughter of Alvin and Lula (Woolson) Conrad. She was raised and educated in the Vernon Center and Amboy areas. She was married to Mervin W. Urban on April 4, 1953 in rural Amboy. Lorraine was a homemaker and had worked as a bookkeeper for several local Amboy businesses over the years. She has also owned and operated the Happy Hands Nook and later Rainy''s Emporium for several years. She was an active, longtime, member of Amboy United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Amboy Chamber of Commerce and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crafts, flower and vegetable gardening and being outdoors with nature. Lorraine''s greatest love was her family. She cherished all her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. All her grandchildren and great grandchildren knew that Wednesday was "Grandma''s day",as they all spent many Wednesday''s at Grandma''s house through the years.Lorraine is survived by her husband, Mervin of Amboy, son, Steve Urban (& fiancee Tranna Thate) of Fairmont, daughter, Terri (& David) Maine of Mankato, son, Randy (& Denise) Urban of Amboy, brother, Robert (& Ruth) Conrad of Amboy, sister, Janice (& Dean) Lee of Amboy, step-mother, Donna Conrad of Amboy, sister-in-law, Ardelle Benschoter of Winnebago, 9 grandchildren: Tara (Jason) Lobitz, Jocelin Reynolds, Jeremiah Maine, Tad Urban, William (Melissa) Urban, Christopher (Sarah) Urban, Melissa (Greg) Urban-Brown, Andrew (Callie) Urban, Hilary Urban and 7 great grandchildren: Kylie, Carson, Adrianna, Melina, Adam, David & Ashley.She was preceded in death by her parents, her father & mother-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law.
