Kermit Johnson

July 28, 1914 — May 19, 2008

Kermit was born July 28, 1914, at East Chain Township, MN, the son of John A. and Ruth N. (Wenstrom) Johnson. He married Grace L. Holm on September 2, 1939 in beautiful wedding on the family farm in East Chain. He attended East Chain High School and worked on neighboring farms in his youth. He spent the remainder of his many years farming the Holm family farm, retiring there. He was a lifelong member of the East Chain Evangelical Free Church, which he loved. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and enjoyed following East Chain Sports, especially the Girls Basketball Team. Since his youth he was passionate about trains and traveled the country extensively by train. His greatest passion was time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter.Kermit is survived by his wife, Grace Johnson of the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea, his daughter, Candace (& husband Neil) Pierce of Alden, grandchildren, Holli and Bryan Pierce of Brooklyn Center and granddaughter, Jasmine Pierce. He is also survived by nieces: Janice (& Daryl) Anderson of Sun City, AZ, Sharon (& Leroy) Bertlin of Roseville and Gail (& Ron) Banke of Tallahassee, Florida, several great nieces & nephews and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Allen Johnson and a niece, Marlene Kusick.
