Raymond J. Frey

February 5, 1925 — August 28, 2008

He was born February 5, 1925, in Kasota Township, MN, the son of Charles and Hannah (Schwitchtenberg) Frey.Raymond was raised and educated in St. Peter where he attended high school. He entered the U.S. Army in 1943 serving in WW II as a Tech Sergeant stationed in the Philippines & Japan. He received the Good Conduct Medal, A Bronze Star, the Asiatic/Pacific Theater Service Ribbon and a Phillippine Liberation Ribbon for his service. He returned home in 1946 and attended Dunwood Institute where he became a Baker. He was married to Marion A. Heilman on October 30, 1948 in St. Peter. The couple came to Blue Earth where Raymond owned and operated Rays Bakery from 1963 to 1976. He also managed the bakery at Jubas Supervalu until his retirement in 1991. His hobbies included golfing, playing cards, fishing and traveling to visit his kids and to the mountains, especially in Alaska. Raymond is survived by his son, Brad (Kim) Frey of Hastings, his daughter, Wendy (Larry) Miller of Deltona, Florida his son, Brian (Diane) Frey of Athol, Mass., his son, Dennis Frey of Deltona, Florida, his daughter, Cheryl (John) Faundeen of Sioux Falls, SD, his daughter, Susan (Brian) Connelly of Minneapolis, his brother, Eugene Frey of Rochester, his sister, Shirley Forsberg of California, his sister, Donna Mae Miller of St. Peter, his sister, Ruth Frey of St. Peter, 4 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marion, brothers: Lyle, Robert, Donald, Richard, Charles Jr., and a sister, Lorraine Johnson.
